Q+A with Logan Sargeant
Logan, what are you looking forward to most about the Formula 1 Crytpo.com Miami Grand Prix 2023?
I’m excited to drive the track for the first time as I haven’t even driven this circuit on the simulator yet, so it’s still a bit of an unknown to me. Obviously it’s my home race so that will be super special as I’ll have lots of family and friends here. I just think the experience as a whole will be awesome.
What is your favorite racing memory so far in your career?
My favorite racing memory is definitely Macau in 2019. That was one of the coolest races I have ever done, starting sixth and getting a podium. I hope I get to go back there at some point.
Why did you choose the number two for your race car?
Good question. My other favorite numbers were taken! Number three is my favorite, but that was off-limits, so, I had a good season in 2018 with ‘2’ so I hope we can keep that up.
What is your favorite circuit you have raced on so far?
My favorite circuit is definitely Silverstone in the UK. Every time I go there it’s always a very smooth and good weekend. I enjoy every chance I get to go around that track.
What is your favorite food pre-race?
I like to keep it relatively light, so a bit of protein and a few carbs in there. So maybe a penne pasta with tomato sauce and a grilled chicken across the top.
What’s the song you listen to before a race?
If I really need to deliver a good result, I gotta say, ‘Lose Yourself’ by Eminem — it’s always a good motivator!
Do you have any pre-race superstitions?
I wouldn’t say it was a superstition… but I have different color underwear each day of the race weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Does that count?!
What is the one thing you could not do without on a race weekend?
That’s a good question… I guess I can’t leave without any of my racing stuff! Nothing major in particular except my Air Pods to listen to music. They are key!
Where is your favorite place to eat in South Florida?
Oh wow…. There is a good Italian restaurant called Cafe Martorano in Fort Lauderdale — that’s a fun spot to go to.
What is your favorite activity to do in South Florida?
The best thing to do is get on the water, get on a boat, hang on and catch some sun. That’s one of my favorite things to do.
Who is your favorite Miami Dolphins player (past or present)?
I’d say right now it’s Tyreek Hill — he’s been going crazy this year!
How excited are you to drive a Formula 1 race so close to home?
Super excited. And having it so close to my home offers a chance for family and friends to have an opportunity to come and watch me race. That’s what I’m most excited about and hopefully I can put on a good show for them and have a great weekend.
