Red Bull continues to dominate the 2023 Formula 1 season, with Max Verstappen recently securing three straight first-place victories in Miami, Monaco, and the Spanish Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion Verstappen has claimed a total of five victories during the 2023 campaign, with the driver trading first place positioning with fellow Red Bull driver Sergio Perez in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Azerbaijan.
Though Verstappen finished 27.91 seconds ahead of second-place Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin, the Monaco Grand Prix brought its challenges for drivers in the form of rain. The change in weather caused several off-track excursions, brushes with the barriers, and pit lane activity. Despite weather complications, Verstappen cruised his way to victory.
Estaban Ocon took third for Alpine after holding off Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton in the closing stages of the race. Ocon built off an impressive qualifying performance to finish on the podium.
Red Bull maintains their undefeated streak after claiming victory in each of the seven races so far this season. In terms of individual standings, Verstappen leads the season with 170 points, followed by Red Bull teammate Perez with 117 and Alonso of Aston Martin with 99 points to round out the top three.
The next stop on the 2023 Formula 1 season schedule is the Pirelli Grand Prix Du Canada in Montreal from June 16-18. Stay up to speed and explore the season schedule.
